Alfred Shang is owner of Shang Enterprises and brother of Shang Su Yi. Due to his wealth and influence, he is one of the most powerful men in Asia. Alfred is a secondary character in the Crazy Rich Asians book series by Kevin Kwan.

Alfred Shang is the son of Shang Loong Ma and his wife Wang Lan Yin. He is the also the younger and sole-surviving brother of Shang Su Yi. As he was the only surviving male heir, he became the sole owner of Shang Enterprises after his father died, with his sister Shang Su Yi inheriting nothing due to her being female.
Alfred married Mabel T'sien, uniting the fortunes of the wealthy Shang and T'sien clans. With her, he had three sons, all of whom were educated at either Oxford or Cambridge University in England, and married aristocratic English wives. In order to spend more time with his grandchildren, Alfred and his wife spent much of their time at their enormous and lavish estate in the English countryside, Harlinscourt.

Alfred is the first one contacted after his sister Shang Su Yi had a heart attack. He uses his government connections to reach his sister's cardiologist, Dr. Francis Oon, who was flying to Australia, and forces the flight of over four hundred people to turn back to Singapore so Dr. Oon could treat Su Yi.
Alfred and his family fly to Singapore from England to attend his sister Shang Su Yi's funeral. He was present when Shang Su Yi's will was read to the family. He revealed that he is the sole owner of the Enterprises, and that his sister Shang Su Yi was in fact not as wealthy as her descendents had assumed.
