Edison "Eddie" Cheng is the private banker cousin of Nick Young and Astrid Leong, as well as one of the secondary protagonists and occasional antagonist in the Crazy Rich Asians book series by Kevin Kwan.

Eddie is the eldest son of Malcolm Cheng and Alexandra Young, and has two younger siblings, Alistair and Cecilia.
His wife is the "long-suffering" Fiona Tung, with whom has has three children, Constantine, Kalliste, and Augustine.
Eddie is ambitious and will do anything to elevate his own status. He cares deeply about his image, even more than his own wife and children. He is quite bothered by the fact that despite having wealthy, successful parents, they are frugal and far from glamorous.

Since it is widely assumed by most in the family that Nick Young has been disinherited by his grandmother Shang Su Yi for marrying Rachel Chu against her wishes, Eddie expects to inherit her massive estate, Tyersall Park, after she passes away.
He was with Su Yi when she became agitated after hearing Nick's name. He goes so far to have Nick banned from coming inside the house in order to ensure Nick will not be rewritten into her will.
When the family heard the reading of the the will of the Shang Su Yi, he was greatly surprised that he did not inherit a portion of Tyersall Park. Furthermore, he was outraged to find out that his own wife also happened to be a witness to the signing of the will, which he was previously unaware of.
At his younger brother Alistair's wedding to Goh Peik Lin, his cousin Astrid is surprised to see that he has significantly changed his ways since his breakdown after not receiving Tyersall Park, remarking that she had never seen him so emotional with his family before. His wife Fiona tells her that she forced him to go to therapy and change his ways after being unable to tolerate his behavior any longer.
